One day, whilst on holiday, she decided to click the button. "Pressure Point", is the first self-portrait, it exposes the vulnerability of being the only person on the beach in a swimming costume. The only one who is over 100 kilos. "The moment that was captured, my vulnerability, my discomfort...was shocking for me when I saw it", states North American Jen Davis. For 11 years she got to know herself via herself portraits and tried to see herself as others saw her - and her journey continues, now 50 kilos lighter. “I think I never realised what my actual size was until I started to lose weight. I knew I was large, I knew I was obese, that I was being observed and that it was uncomfortable for me, but only when I started to lose weight did I realise what my real weight was." The series "Self-Portraits" is now going around the world and can been seen in various exhibitions. Next year, the book will be launched.
