After the Grumpy Cat, the cat with the rather unfriendly face, it’s Sam’s turn, the cat with eyebrows, to win over the internet. Everything happened rather suddenly. In December, a friend of Sam’s owner suggested creating an Instagram account with images of the white cat with eyebrow, guaranteeing his owner that he woudl become famous. And so it was. Two months later, Sam, ‘the cat with eyebrows’, has more than 27 000 followers on Instagram, a Facebook page with 4600 fans and even a Twitter account with nearly a thousand followers. Sam believes that ‘all animals are truly incredible, eyebrows or not’, writes the Samhaseyebrows site creator. Therefore, part of the site’s revenue(where t-shirts and posters are sold) are donated to Empty Cages Collective, a non-profit organisation in New York which defends animal rights. So that other cats can be as lucky as Sam, which had been abandoned and was adopted by its current owner.
